The Nature Conservancy Acquires Paintings and Monotypes

We are thrilled to announce a large gift of paintings and monographs to The Nature Conservancy. These 26 works will be displayed in offices in California, Colorado, Wyoming and Connecticut. The Nature Conservancy was an important organization that Joellyn loved to support. Knowing her work will be present in venues across the country would have made Joellyn proud.


Cherokee Ranch Castle Foundation Acquires Large Garden Paintings and More

We are pleased to announce the acquisition by Cherokee Ranch and Castle Foundation of several important works by Joellyn. James Holmes, director and curator, has selected three seminal paintings Joellyn created in her garden, which represent her intimate spaces and passion for her private landscape. They have also acquired Joellyn’s Waterworks Series, created in plein air at Chatfield Reservoir, a favorite destination.


Announcing Gift of 16 Works to the Vicki Myhren Gallery, University of Denver

Director of the Vicki Myhren Gallery of Art at the University of Denver, Geoffrey Shamos, worked with us to acquire a large donation of paintings and monotypes for the University’s collection. DU is also the recipient of Joellyn’s archives, so this gift adds a wonderful survey of works to this important Colorado collection.


Announcing New Gift to the Denver Botanic Gardens

We are thrilled to announce the donation of two paintings to the Denver Botanic Gardens’ collection. Joellyn was a passionate supporter of the land and an enthusiastic gardener. We are pleased to know her work will be well represented in the Gardens’ fine collection.


Smith College Museum of Art Acquires Two Monotypes to Their Collection

Curators at Smith College Museum of Art have selected two poignant monotypes to round out their already considerable collection of works by Joellyn, who graduated from Smith with a Bachelor of Art in 1966.


Announcing Donation to the Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University

This summer curators at the Jundt Art Museum in Spokane, Washington, selected numerous works representing a concise and powerful survey of Joellyn’s works. Seven paintings representing Joellyn’s work done in Alaska, Europe, Colorado, California and Montana have been added to the Jundt’s collection of monotypes they acquired earlier in the year.


Family & Friends Exhibition and Sale – November 16-20, 2022

Joellyn’s stepdaughters Rebekah and Jessica Kowal are holding a Family & Friends exhibition and sale of her work from Nov. 16-20, 2022 at our downtown Denver gallery space. Available works include oil paintings on linen and canvas as well as monotype prints, offered at collector’s pricing.
